Stretch marks depend on a number of factors when determining how successful treatment will be. The general rule is that the older the stretch mark, the harder it is to treat. Having said that, there have been cases where clients have had stretch marks a few years old and have successfully reduced them through laser treatments.

This depends on the individual client and how well they respond to fractional laser treatments. Generally at a minimum, the requirement is between four and nine treatments.

The stretch mark removal treatment is much like any other laser treatment. In most circumstances, clients describe it as a warm elastic band flick against the skin, or a small pinch on the treated area. The sensation only lasts a second or two and then disappears.

There are very minimal side effects directly after the treatment. The surface area may appear slightly red or pink in colour with a little bit of swelling however this usually subsides fairly quickly post treatment. Realistically, your clinical therapist would like to see this sort of skin reaction as it generally indicates that the affected area has responded to the laser treatment. Be sure to carefully follow the aftercare information sheet given to you post treatment and always ensure you are regularly using a sunscreen to protect the areas being treated.

Your skin will feel invigorated and pure, and will glow and shine from the newly exposed skin cells. Slight peeling is normal a few days after your first treatment, so avoid using any exfoliating scrubs or lotions before and after treatment for at least 3 days. Also avoid exposing your new skin to sunlight and tanning beds.
